Ah, the Pepperdew. If you haven’t yet tried these sweet, red, addictive preserved peppers from South Africa, here’s your chance to make up for lost time.
Equally good stuffed with cheese, chopped olives, or your favorite meat or seafood filling (think stuffed mushrooms, only with delectable peppers instead) or sprinkled on salads and sandwiches, these beautiful little guys will steal your heart.
Additionally, the Peppadew also makes a great topping on homemade pizza and burgers or it can be added to your favorite omelette or quiche recipes.
Typically available in jars and cans, Pepperdews were brought to America about a decade ago.
(You can’t find fresh Peppadew peppers in supermarkets yet, although some gardeners are starting to grow the peppadew from seed.)
Here’s a delicious party friendly appetizer recipe for Feta Cheese Pepperdew Dip Recipe from the folks at the Amateur Gastronomist to help you make the most of the flavor of the Peppadew.

It doesn’t get much better than this. They have them already stuffed and loose at the Whole Foods store in Tulsa and several sites on the net. They are truly something special.
