With Memorial Day coming up, many of us are trying to spend as much time outside as we possibly can. One of the most enjoyable ways to do this is to fire up the trusty BBQ grill.
Although making burgers and hotdogs on the grill is a time honored tradition, sometimes you just want to serve something a little different.
This party friendly appetizer recipe for Grilled Spiced Fava Beans from the folks at 101 Cookbooks is a fun way to celebrate the flavor of fava beans in the great outdoors.
Also known as broad beans and horse beans, fava beans are popular around the world from Mexico to China.
Once you try these grilled spiced favas, you’ll want to make these again and again throughout the Summer.
Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 pound of fresh fava beans, still in their pods
a couple glugs of olive oil
a few pinches of salt
Optional: crushed red pepper flakes, lemon zest, and or chopped fresh herbs.
