If you ask me, a party without any dip, pate, or spreads is a sad party indeed.
The brief moment when one spreads something delicious on one’s dip carrier of choice (ie. crackers, chips, celery sticks, or crostini) is the perfect opportunity to be here now.
As one moves purposefully through all the necessary stages of dip and dip carrier selection, aquisition, and application and moves closer towards eating one can hardly not feel a sense of anticipatory pleasure from all the flavors waiting to be experienced.
Here’s a delicious party friendly appetizer recipe for a very easy and satisfying Mushroom Pate from the folks at Sassy Radish.
A guaranteed hit with mushroom lovers, this pate is a great spread that your gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan friends can enjoy as well. This mushroom pate also makes a wonderful sandwich or salad topping.
Enjoy!

Ingredients:
Olive, canola, or grape seed oil
2 medium onions, finely slivered
2 lbs sliced mushrooms (I use cremini and like to slice them myself – they stay more fresh and moist this way)
1-2 tsp salt
