Often referred to as the Academy Awards of food, each year, the prestigious James Beard Awards seek to honor some of the best chefs, restaurants, food authors, and journalists in America chosen by some 400 judges.
In 2009, the James Beard Foundation added a new award category for food blogs.
The list of James Beard Award Finalists for the 2009 James Beard Award New Media Winners has just been released which you can see below:

- Jane Goldman of Chow.com was nominated in the Website Focusing on Food, Beverage, Restaurants or Nutrition Category
- Tanya Steel of Epicurious.com was nominated in the Website Focusing on Food, Beverage, Restaurants or Nutrition Category
